The South Dakota Office of Procurement
Management acted as the lead state for a National Association of
State Procurement Officials (NASPO) cooperative solicitation that
has established a national contract for the purchase of
remanufactured Hewlett Packard printer cartridges containing
biobased toner. Midwestern states indicating their
intention of using the contract include Iowa, North Dakota and
Nebraska, along with South Dakota. The contract is open to all
50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as political
subdivisions.
The contract was awarded to Lasermonks Inc,
out of Sparta, Wisconsin. Information on how to use the

The Office of Procurement Management has implemented a new
electronic procurement system hosted by Mercury Commerce Solutions.
Vendor's began registering on the system on June 25, 2007. OPM will begin
issuing formal and informal solicitations through the new system on July 1,
2007.
Registered bidders will not only receive electronic
notification of bidding opportunities issued through the system, but will also
be able to submit their response online through the system in most instances.
There is a $50 annual fee to be a registered bidder.
