Step 1: Complete the The Dakota Corps Scholarship Application Online. Print, sign and mail to:

Step 2: Students must list their activities, honors, awards, and community service work. In addition, they must compose a short essay explaining what has attracted them to their profession and to remaining in South Dakota for employment.
   
Step 3: Certification from high school counselor, principal, or other school official showing class rank, grade point average, and ACT score or certification from home school parent or administrator, if applicable.
   
Step 4: Great Lakes, on behalf of the Dakota Corps Scholarship Board, notifies all applicants of the decisions. Recipients are provided with a School Acceptance form to take to the college they plan to attend. The college must certify that they will accept and meet the requirements of the scholarship. Either the college or the recipient returns the School Acceptance form to Great Lakes.
   
Step 5: Great Lakes obtains a signed Acceptance and Promissory Note from the recipient in which he/she promises to repay the scholarship in the event he/she does not meet the eligibility requirements.
   
 

Deadline: Applications must be postmarked by February 1 to receive consideration. All applicants will be notified of the decisions.
