SDPB Television Dr. Rick Holm & Tami Watson	Award of Excellence AMA’s National Association of Medical Communicators	The weekly medical program On Call, Dr. Rick Holm, Medical Editor of the SDPB Television program, and Tami Watson, Producer and Host of On Call, were honored in May 2009.
SDPB Radio Cara Hetland	National Public Radio Fellowship Impact of War	Cara Hetland, News Director for SDPB Radio, was selected in June 2009 as one of 20 news producers nationwide to participate in an Impact of War training program.
SDPB Radio Charles Michael Ray	Logan Science Journalism Program Fellowship Woods Hole Marine Biological Laboratory	SDPB Radio News Producer Charles Michael Ray was selected for a prestigious fellowship in Alaska in June 2009 to learn about the effects of global warming.

Charles Michael Ray	National Edward R. Murrow Awards • Hard News Feature, Charles Michael Ray. UNITY Award, for continuing coverage of minority and underserved populations.	The awards, presented in October 2008, honor excellence in electronic journalism, and are highly coveted by news organizations nationwide. In all, the Radio-Television News Directors Association selected just 77 award winners out of a pool of 3,459 entries. The Radio-Television News Directors Association awarded just three radio UNITY Awards nationwide.
